This year, the conference was held on 21-22 August as a physical conference with the theme \"See and hear me - about person-centred rehabilitation\". <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim was to reach out to everyone who works with and is interested in rehabilitation, and who meets people with impaired vision and hearing. The conference was attended by occupational therapists, vision therapists, audio therapists, audiographers, opticians, environmental therapists, psychologists, counsellors and others. Others experience being invisibilised and disregarded. The experience is one of not being seen and heard for who they are, because their surroundings are unsure how to deal with a person with a combined visual and hearing impairment\/deafblindness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a rehabilitation process, it is particularly important that people with visual and hearing impairments\/deafblindness feel seen and heard by their helpers, carers and professionals. She has been the director of a municipal family treatment centre and worked on a child psychiatric ward. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is now an independent psychologist and has counselled various professional groups working with children, adults and families over the years. Susan holds many courses and lectures throughout Scandinavia. She is the author of a large number of books on neuroaffective developmental psychology, which have been translated into several languages. She started her career as a physiotherapist in the field of rehabilitation and habilitation and has experience from both the specialist health service and the municipal health service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kari has been a manager at various levels in the municipal sector and in recent years she has worked on interdisciplinary projects in professional and service development. She holds a PhD in Person-Oriented Health Work from the University of Southeast Norway.
