The project started in 2023 and will end in autumn 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who are project collaborators?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From 2023 to the autumn of 2025, a project group worked together on an exciting project on user participation from people with deafblindness in the development of new technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The project group consisted of:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Three users of Eikholt:<\/strong>&nbsp;Marie Dyrkorn Egge, Erik Nilsen, Bedir Yiyit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Three employees from Eikholt:<\/strong>&nbsp;Fereshteh Halimi, Emilio Jensen Granados and Kari Jokstad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Professor Hilde Thygesen<\/strong> from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usn.no\/\">University of South East Norway<\/a>&nbsp;followed the project as a participating observer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"771\" src=\"https:\/\/www.eikholt.no\/app\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Prosjektgruppen-i-brukermedvirkning-i-utvikling-av-ny-teknologi-1024x771.jpg\" alt=\"Six people are standing next to each other. About collaboration between developers and users of assistive technology, and about interaction and co-creation in a project group. It has been satisfying for everyone to experience that we have developed new knowledge together. The sessions have been characterised by engagement, interest and curiosity. The course was held in August 2025, with the entire project team as trainers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the course was for participants to learn about project work and how they could use their unique experience-based knowledge in projects. Some of the participants are already working as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eikholt.no\/en\/articles\/user-participation\/\">experience consultants <\/a>in projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The way forward - dissemination and publishing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is now in the dissemination phase. The journal Nordisk velferdsforskning \/ Nordic Welfare Research is planning a special themed issue on deafblindness in 2026. The project group has written a research article that has been accepted for pre-publication there.
