Cathrine Timm Sundin, Senior Communications Advisor at Eikholt, has in collaboration with Hapti-Co<\/a> completed a project on the use of haptic communication in the context of guide dogs and practitioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is part of the subject areas communication and mobility and orientation. Mobility is about moving from one place to another in a safe and independent way. Orientation in this context is knowing where you are in relation to your surroundings. Mobility and orientation can, for example, be about walking from home to the shop and knowing where you are in relation to your surroundings all the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haptic communication and guide dogs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haptic communication in the context of guide dog and handler is a tool to improve the dog's ability to be the primary obstacle solver. Results from the project were presented at the International Mobility Conference in Poland in May 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A guide has been created that can be freely downloaded and used. This can be downloaded here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
