For better inclusion of people with combined visual and hearing impairment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rolf Lund from Eikholt was invited to present a project the research and development department at Eikholt is working on at the International Warsaw Vision 2024 conference<\/a>. As many as 700 participants were present from all continents of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focus on rights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The conference promotes a human right that blind and visually impaired people are met by society with solutions that allow them to move independently and safely in public spaces, and use a range of services and products without difficulty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rolf highlighted the additional challenges faced by people with combined visual and hearing impairments, and emphasised that part of the solution to this lies in a more multi-sensory approach to the challenges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cutting-edge technology that promotes independence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The conference demonstrates new cutting-edge technologies that are practical and some of which have already been implemented in Warsaw and elsewhere. These include outdoor and indoor navigation systems, mobile apps and new social innovations used to build accessible environments for people with special needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessibility, mobility and innovation were the leading issues at the Warsaw Vision 2024 conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
