Their retirement is what we call a celebration of dedication to people with combined visual and hearing impairment. For Aashild has been an invaluable Activator at Eikholt, known for her creativity and ability to find solutions for people with visual and hearing impairment\/deafblindness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aashild has been involved in a large part of the development of Eikholt and of many of the people she has met. She knows what each person likes to do and finds knitting needles with good contrast, tries out filter glasses in activities that are important to the individual, and makes room for calm and confidence to be found in a conversation about felting and clay. There is meaning behind everything she does, and her commitment has made a big difference to many people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For many years, she has led themed courses together with Kjell-Henrik Hendriks. Course participants have expressed a joy of knowledge and a sense of mastery precisely because of the themed courses. They have provided the opportunity for discussions in the networks where the individual lives and have also been important for mental health ( <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eikholt.no\/en\/articles\/kjell-henrik-the-auditorium-man\/\">Kjell-Henrik - auditorium man - Eikholt<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people have expressed their gratitude for the work Aashild has done, because it has made a difference in their everyday lives. Earlier this year, Aashild was awarded the medal for long and faithful service, a well-deserved recognition of her dedication over 32 years. Eikholt since 1995, and is known for her good humour and for always having a funny comment up her sleeve. Turid has ensured that everything from orders to logistics has run smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turid has a unique ability to communicate with guests, including the use of sign language. She enjoys having guests in the house and uses the opportunities she has to talk and get to know everyone. For Turid, this has been important, among other things, for everyone to feel safe when staying at Eikholt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turid has also been active in courses where food has been the focus. Her sense of humour, communication skills and excellent knowledge of food have all come into their own here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, Turid was also honoured with a medal for long and faithful service this year, after more than 25 years at Eikholt. smile. She is known for conjuring up delicious Thai dishes with just the right strength for Norwegian palates. Her marvellous comments and laughter have turned meals into a feast, and her presence has spread joy and warmth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ruchipa has also been a good contributor to courses where food has been a topic. She has shared her knowledge and experience with great enthusiasm. Ruchipa has been an important part of the team, and the spirit of volunteerism is great when something needs to be done.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ruchipa has contributed to creating an inclusive and cosy atmosphere at Eikholt.
