{"id":919,"date":"2023-06-22T09:08:02","date_gmt":"2023-06-22T09:08:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eikholt.no\/?post_type=service&#038;p=919"},"modified":"2024-09-03T08:50:45","modified_gmt":"2024-09-03T08:50:45","slug":"carer-for-someone-with-a-combined-visual-and-hearing-impairment","status":"publish","type":"service","link":"https:\/\/www.eikholt.no\/en\/services\/carer-for-someone-with-a-combined-visual-and-hearing-impairment\/","title":{"rendered":"Carer of someone with combined visual and hearing impairment?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eikholt.no\/en\/\">Eikholt&nbsp;<\/a>is a resource and competence centre that offers courses for people with combined visual and hearing impairment\/deafblindness and their carers.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A close person can be a family member, a boyfriend, a friend, a good neighbour or a colleague.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Carers also need knowledge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>How can I understand what visual and hearing impairment is? How does visual and hearing impairment affect our relationship?  How can I contribute to the smooth running of social activities and gatherings? How does my sensory loss affect me?  How can I be a good friend?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Eikholt, we also want to be a resource for carers and therefore have various courses in which you can participate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We have special group courses for carers where you can learn more about combined sensory loss and different ways of communicating. The course gives you the opportunity to meet other carers in a similar caring role to yourself. Part of the content will therefore be based on the exchange of experiences through active participation and dialogue between participants and professionals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In consultation with the user, you as a carer can participate in individual courses when the information and training is useful and relevant to you as a carer. Increased knowledge of combined sensory loss will provide greater understanding and strengthen the interaction and relationship. An individual course is prepared in collaboration with you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At Eikholt, it is possible to bring the family together in a customised course.
