Arena - Workshop for professionals with visual and hearing impairments.

Date: Week 48 (01 and 02 December) with application deadline 21 September 2016.

Goals: Through the exchange of experiences, the participants will gain good strategies and be equipped to stay in their jobs. They will also be updated on the latest rights and opportunities.

Target group: Professionals or students with visual and hearing impairments.

Theme/content:
Professionals with visual and hearing impairments lead workshops on the topics;

  • telling colleagues and managers about their sensory loss
  • interpreter in the workplace
  • retraining to stay in work
  • Leading meetings
  • working in the private sector
  • "health day"
  • who are good supporters?

Professionals from different parts of the support system will give lectures on what they can contribute and what opportunities exist to facilitate a good working life.

The motto for the workshop is; Come - share - learn

Practical information: The workshop is organised as a NAV adaptation course, which means that course fees, travel, board and lodging are covered. For lost earnings, we recommend that you talk to your employer for leave. You can also apply for sick pay through your GP.
