Eikholt 40 years

Today, 26 August, it is 40 years since Eikholt was officially opened by King Olav V. This was a day of celebration not only for Konnerud and Drammen, but for the whole country. Finally, people with deafblindness had their own centre for rehabilitation, training and, not least, the opportunity to meet others with deafblindness.

Our colleague Jan Ove Årseth has died

Our colleague Jan Ove Årseth died suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday 17 July. He was picked up by an ambulance at his home, but his life could not be saved. This came as a shock and is terribly sad for everyone. Jan Ove was 53 years old.

Courses in video communication and online meetings

Throughout the Corona period, we have experienced the importance of being able to participate and invite to video communication in order to maintain work meetings, organisational work and contact with family and friends. We therefore want to provide the opportunity to learn how to use some of these tools.

In order to gain knowledge about the experiences of people with sensory loss in the workplace, we have chosen to use an empirical study where we can interpret, understand and describe the participants' experiences of their work situation.

Users are very satisfied with the Eikholt

January - February 2020, B2S Research conducted a user survey for Eikholt. A total of 143 users who had received services during the past six months were invited to respond. The response rate was approximately 43 %. Approximately 40 % of the respondents have congenital deafblindness and approximately 60 % have acquired deafblindness.
