Haptics: pocket edition – with new functionality and a new design
The long-awaited Haptics: pocket edition app has been relaunched! The app provides an overview of 144 haptic signals - a method of conveying information through touch. The app is especially important for people with visual impairment and combined visual and hearing impairment/deafblindness, their networks and professionals.
The launch took place at Eikholt, with a visit from Sail and Hapti-Cowho have been central to the development of the app. Eikholt has taken over the ownership of Haptics: pocket edition to ensure further development. Read more about the background for this here:

What is Haptics: pocket edition?
Haptics: pocket edition is an app for learning standardised haptic signals. The app has been developed for people with visual and hearing impairment/deafblindness, blind people, their networks and professionals who want to use the signals.
What's new in Haptics: pocket edition?
The app is now secured on a new platform. It comes with several improvements that make it more user-friendly and accessible:
- More than 140 haptic signals - The signals are categorised, each with a description, image, text and video.
- Available in Norwegian and English for wider use.
- Favourite lists - Create your own lists and share them with others.
- Accessibility settings - possible to select high contrast, the text size follows the settings on your phone or tablet.
- New platform with improved and new functionality.
- Updated design that provides a modern and intuitive user experience.
- Web version - makes it possible to use the app directly in the browser.
The goal is clear: a safe and accessible solution for everyone!
