My story - a book that gives deafblind people a voice
Last week, the book "My story" was launched. The book contains 10 portraits of people with both visual and hearing impairments. The author behind the new book is Roy-Morten Østerbøl, information counsellor at the Norwegian National Advisory Unit on Deafblindness (NKDB). "We at Eikholt, as part of the NKDB, are proud of this work that brings out the voice and history of the users.

The Ledsagær`n is a companion brace that can be a good alternative for many in activities where flexibility is needed.

Fereshteh and Romy bring new knowledge and experience to Eikholt
We are pleased to welcome Fereshte Halimi and Romy Regina Prochnow as new colleagues at Eikholt. They bring with them a lot of valuable knowledge and experience that will strengthen us as a team at Eikholt.

The family course "Life with Usher" - so good to be able to learn from each other
The family course "Life with Usher" took place in week 32. A total of 8 families with children and young people with Usher, and their siblings participated. It was a week with a lot happening, both for adults, young people and the little ones.

New RP Project - Optimising visual function in people with RP
In the autumn of 2022 and spring of 2023, a project on Eikholt will be carried out in collaboration with Hurdal Vision and Coping Centre and the RP Association. In addition, the University of Southeast Norway (USN) is involved in the project. Five students on the Nordic master's programme in visual rehabilitation/visual pedagogy will write their master's theses based on five different focus areas in the project.

The sound makes the music!
At the beginning of February, I attended music days at Eikholt, for people with acquired deafblindness. It was an unforgettable experience! We are looking for Caretaker 100% with the possibility of permanent employment
We are looking for an efficient, accurate and independent caretaker. We are looking for someone who has good technical building knowledge, the ability to see what needs to be done, is efficient and a good team player, and is good at order and tidiness. The position is initially 100% temporary, but with the possibility of permanent employment.

The trade magazine "Audiografen" has featured the development of the Eikholt test.

The family course 'Life with Usher' will take place from 10 - 14 August.
The aim of this course is to get to know other families in the same situation. Adults, adolescents and children will receive a tailored programme. It is an opportunity to meet other mums, dads and siblings of a child with Usher through various topics, conversations, games and activities.
