Eikholt seeks sign language interpreter for counsellor position

We are looking for an employee who enjoys working with people and who can contribute to the professional work related to our customised communication courses.

We are looking for a professional with a background as a sign language interpreter and experience of working with combined sensory loss/deafblindness. You must want to work innovatively with professional and service development and close user contact. Perhaps you also have interests and hobbies that can be utilised in our courses? A desire to work interdisciplinary is a given in this position. 

Work tasks:

• Development and implementation of customisation courses, individually and in groups
• Training and counselling for users, caregivers and professionals in sign to speech, sign language, tactile sign language, as well as haptic communication, escorting and description  
• Mapping of needs for habilitation and rehabilitation
• Documentation and dissemination of knowledge
• Some travelling must be expected

Qualifications:

• Interpreter for the hearing impaired, deaf and deafblind
• Experience with the target group
• Good written and oral communication skills

 It is desirable with: 

• Counselling expertise  
• Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)
