Language and communication advisor

Do you want to work with language and communication for people with combined visual and hearing impairment? We are looking for another employee with a background as a sign language interpreter or who has a good command of sign language, and who has experience of combined sensory loss/deafblindness. Work tasks

• Develop and conduct customisation courses individually and in groups  
• Mapping the need for habilitation and rehabilitation 
• Training and guidance in sign to speech, sign language, tactile sign language, as well as haptic communication and escorting
• Guidance and training for carers and professionals
• Dissemination and co-operation with external parties  
• Interdisciplinary project work and service development   

Some travelling must be expected.

Do you have any of these qualifications?

• Training as an interpreter for the deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing
• Other formal sign language competences or good sign language skills

This is not a requirement, but a wish:

• Educational or health and social care programme
• Experience with the target group
• Teaching experience
• Counselling expertise
• Experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)

• That you have good written and oral communication skills
