We are looking for Environmental worker

One of our main tasks is to organise both individual and group courses, over one or more days, for users and family members. Eikholt is also a meeting place for our users and we place great emphasis on creating a vibrant arena where meeting others in similar situations, exchanging experiences and socialising have an important psychosocial value. We are therefore looking for a motivated, flexible and conscientious environmental worker/activator.

Kristin Ørmen Johnsen is new chairman of the board at Eikholt

On Monday 13 December 2021, Kristin Ørmen Johnsen was elected as the new chair of the board of the Eikholt National Resource Centre for Deafblindness Foundation. Kristin Ørmen Johnsen has a broad background of experience. She has been rector of Buskerud University College (now the University of Southeastern Norway - USN), state secretary and member of parliament for two terms. She was also a member of the Health and Care Committee during her first term in Parliament.

Veronica is the new Operations Manager at Eikholt

We would like to welcome Veronica Samuelsen, our newly appointed Operations Manager. She is already up and running here at Eikholt, and the time is now initially being used to get to know all the people in the building and our organisation. Eventually, there will also be an opportunity to greet everyone who comes to visit Eikholt.

Emilio is a newly appointed Senior Advisor within ICT

Before the summer holidays started, we signed Emilio Jensen Granados as a new Senior Advisor in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This strengthens us in the great demand we have for courses and the focus on the interdisciplinary work needed around our target group.

The position of Operations Manager at Eikholt is filled

Veronica Samuelsen will be our new Chief Operating Officer. She will take up the position on 1 December 2021.

We congratulate Marit on completing her master's degree

For the past four years, our colleague Marit Irene Vie has been working hard on her studies alongside her job. Now she has finally completed her clinical master's programme in family therapy and systemic practice at Oslo University College (VID).

Time for us - a report on courses for carers, couples and families

When you think of your family, who do you think of? You might choose a few or many family members. Maybe you write down one of your siblings or cousins, but not all of them. Maybe a good friend joins your family map? Who is defined as part of our family varies according to the time and culture we are part of and is therefore different for everyone. At Eikholt, we have programmes for couples, families and close individuals.

All courses are running as normal this autumn

We are now planning for group and individual courses to run as normal when we start up after the summer holidays. We therefore remind you that you should apply for a course as soon as possible.

Rehabilitation for people with combined visual and hearing impairment - a digital conference

The link is now ready for the conference that will be held on 26 August 2021 with the theme of rehabilitation for people with combined visual and hearing impairment. The conference is also a celebration of Eikholt's 40 years of developing services for the target groups. The conference is free and open to all.
