Who is the course suitable for

The course is for you with combined visual and hearing impairments. You want to try new physical activity, learn something new, and enjoy being social with others. The course is for both those with long and short experience of using an interpreter/guide. You must be patient and willing to cooperate with interpreter students.

Information about interpreter/companion on this course

The course serves as a practical training for interpreter students from Høgskulen på Vestlandet (HVL) Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

The interpreter students will be your interpreter/companion throughout the course. You are an important contributor to the students’ successful learning through a rich and varied internship.

Course objectives and content

The goal of the course is to try new activities, challenge yourself, and be social with others. Activities in both indoor and outdoor environments will be facilitated.

  • You attend lectures on current topics
  • You experience physical and social activities together with the other course participants, such as climbing and hiking in rough terrain
