Eikholt offers three engaging presentations during the Research Days

As part of Research Days 2025, Eikholt invites you to an afternoon of lectures. This year's theme is safety. The lectures will focus on how the interaction between sight and hearing contributes to safety in everyday life. Just turn up, the event is open to everyone. No registration is required and there will be light refreshments.

- Hearing for vision - Audiographer Anne-May Førland explains how hearing helps us to look in the right direction.
- Sight for hearing - Audiographer Rolf Mjønes shows how vision helps us understand what is being said
- Eikholt's history - Director Roar Meland talks about Eikholt, a unique centre for unique people.
The event is suitable for everyone, and we especially welcome seniors and others who are curious about how the senses work together - and how we can experience more security in everyday life.

Get to know the speakers
Rolf Mjønes: is an audiologist with a strong interest in hearing rehabilitation. He has given countless lectures on combined sensory loss for various professional communities and educational institutions, and is a masterful communicator! In recent years, he has focussed on research, especially the development of the ground-breaking Eikholt test, which is now used in most Norwegian hospitals and hearing clinics.
Anne May Førland: is an audiologist with a master's degree in clinical health sciences and audiology. She has a keen interest in genetics, hearing, orientation and mobility, directional hearing, and hearing rehabilitation. Anne-May is a lecturer with a lot of knowledge in the field of hearing who gives engaging lectures.
Roar Meland: is director of Eikholt and has for many years contributed to the centre's development for people with visual and hearing impairments. With his unshakeable belief that people can, if they are given the opportunity, he has run the centre in step with society's development. Eikholt now has more than 30 employees with a high level of expertise in vision, hearing, communication, ICT, research and rehabilitation.
