Karine V. Hestholm at Deafblind International
During the ninth European conference "Touch of closeness" organised by Deafblind International (DbI), Karine V. Hestholm presented her story in front of hundreds of participants from all over the world. In this article written for Eikholt, she describes her message and shares her experience of contributing to DbI.

Nature Sculpture. A course for young people and adults with congenital deafblindness.
For people with congenital deafblindness, Eikholt offers a week-long course at Johnsgård Tourist Centre in Engerdal. The aim is to experience communication, interaction and mastery through meaningful activities and artistic experiences. The application deadline is 1 May.

Kari Schjøll Brede from Eikholt published in international journal
The latest issue of the Journal of deafblind studies on communication publishes an article by Kari Schjøll Brede from Eikholt, and co-author Jacques Souriau. The article presents results based on a case study that Kari conducted during her master's programme at the University of Groningen in 2008.

New national recommendations for detecting and treating hearing loss in young children
The Norwegian Directorate of Health has issued new recommendations for newborn hearing screening and the assessment and treatment of hearing loss in young children. The recommendations are intended to help detect hearing loss early and provide help with stimulating hearing and developing language.
