A more inclusive world with Haptic communication

On the 6th and 7th of November we had the pleasure of participating in the symposium "Haptics for Inclusion" at the University of Borås. Eikholt was represented at this international symposium where researchers and experts from 16 countries met to share knowledge and ideas.

Now you can take part in important research on hearing and mental health

All hearing impaired and deaf people can now contribute to a major survey on mental health. The knowledge gained from the "PsykHør" project will be used to improve health services - and provide important insights into living with hearing impairment.

In 2024, a new themed course has been set up with the title "We, society and the system". Magne Bolme and Sølvi Marie Risøy will guide the participants safely through this course, together with Romy Regina Prochow, senior advisor for vision and mobility at Eikholt. The deadline to apply is already 1 November.

Welcome to Eikholt's new website and updated visual profile! We are excited to present our new digital face, which has been developed to create a great user experience with a clean and modern look.

At Eikholt, several well-known people in the field of deafblindness have given names to buildings and roads. Today it was Harald Vik's turn. The stables have been rebuilt and will from now on bear the name Harald Vik's house.

The Eikholt test has been launched

The day finally came for the launch of the EIkholt test. This took place at this year's Eikholt conference with the theme "Sight and hearing for an active everyday life". Mayor of Drammen Monica Myrvold Berg opened the conference and Rolf Mjønes himself provided an introduction to the test for the audience both in the hall and digitally.

Rolf was a keynote speaker at rehabilitation conferences in China

Rolf Lund was recently the keynote speaker at two major international conferences on rehabilitation in Beijing, China. The invitation came from China's Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the conference was hosted by the China Federation of the Disabled.

Good results from this year's user survey

During January-February this year, Eikholt conducted a user survey for the second time. On behalf of Eikholt, the company B2S Research was responsible for this. A total of 143 users who had received services during the past six months were invited to respond. The response rate ended at 44 %, which is good for this type of survey.
