New national recommendations for detecting and treating hearing loss in young children

The Norwegian Directorate of Health has issued new recommendations for newborn hearing screening and the assessment and treatment of hearing loss in young children. The recommendations are intended to help detect hearing loss early and provide help with stimulating hearing and developing language.

NKCDB: The job is a health factor

The National Knowledge Centre for Deafblind Issues has published an article on an important topic that affects all people with combined sensory loss. Mattias Ehn, a psychologist at the deafblind team in Stockholm, has researched the mental health of people with Usher syndrome Type II and emphasises the importance of staying at work.

Project: Archery for the blind

Davood Nematinia is an archer and club coach in Hvalstad, as well as team leader for Norway at representative events. He has contributed to Eikholt's "network group for men" as an instructor for participants with vision loss. He is now working on a new project where you have the chance to participate!

NKCDB with article series about Eikholt

The National Knowledge Centre for Deafblind Issues has visited Eikholt and produced a series of articles on the theme of "the interaction between sight and hearing". The series contains four articles with different focuses, including interviews with Magnus Tollefsrud, Bente Enggrav and Ann-Britt Johansson.
