The political system - Us and the world - Group A

The course is held twice with the same content. Each course consists of two parts. You sign up for group A or B. If both courses are suitable for you, write it in the comments field when you apply.

Group A:

Part 1, Week 5: 27 - 30 January 2026
Part 2, Week 17: 21 - 24 April 2026

Group B:

Part 1, Week 7: 10 - 13 February 2026
Part 2, Week 22: 26 - 29 May 2026

Who is the course suitable for

This social course is for people with a combined visual and hearing impairment who want increased insight and knowledge about the political system in Norway and Norway's relationship with the rest of the world.

The course is suitable for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of Norwegian democracy, and for participants with an interest in politics, society and the world around us. The course is suitable both for those who have experience in politics, but also for those who feel that they don't know much already, but want to learn. The course is designed so that everyone will get a boost.

Course content and objectives

The course provides an introduction to the Norwegian political system. How decisions are made and how Norway relates to international agreements and institutions. In other words, we discuss politics, the EU, Ukraine, Russia, Trump and other issues in the news.
There will be group work, role play and many other fun forms of learning adapted to the course participants.

After completing the course, the aim is for you to have knowledge of how the Storting works and be familiar with election processes. You will have knowledge of the EU, EEA, NATO and a number of other issues, giving you the confidence and expertise to participate in and understand the society around us.
