Eikholt Conference on Rehabilitation for People with Combined Visual and Hearing Impairment

The 2021 conference focused on rehabilitation for people with combined visual and hearing impairment/deafblindness.
Deafblindness as an interdisciplinary field in constant development, person-centred health work and empowerment are current and relevant perspectives that were thematised. These perspectives have been, and are, important for Eikholt and form the basis for the Eikholt model that has recently been developed and published. The model is the result of continuous service development that has brought us to where we are today.
The conference provided insight into both the theoretical-methodological basis of person-centred rehabilitation and the Eikholt model, as well as practical examples of what this rehabilitation process can include. We also gained important and powerful insights into how users view and experience this.
Many people attended the conference and we received a lot of positive feedback along the way, which shows that the programme and the various topics were perceived as relevant and exciting by the audience.
